This session introduces the main pillars of innovation. First, participants will review some basic concepts on innovation such as the different stages of the innovation process as well as the different models of innovation. Then, participants will be exposed to some concepts and tools related to the opportunity exploration and exploitation process. Finally, a third task will discuss the challenges of innovation in the digital era and the role of technology, and participants will be introduced to the NIR-VANA platform as a tool that can improve different aspects of their daily job as innovation advisors.
This session explores the concept and strategies for successfully implementing open/collaborative innovation where organizations can collaborate, co-create and co-participate in innovation projects. First, participants will learn what open and collaborative innovation means and how this strategy is perceived in the SMEs contexts. Then, participants will enter into detail on what open innovation strategies can be applied, what is the workflow when applying collaborative innovation and what is the role of the open innovation intermediaries (such as innovation advisors) when organizations engage in this activities. Finally, participants will have the opportunity overview how NIR-VANA is useful to support and structure the open/collaborative innovation process of the organizations, and what tools are connected to this platform that also give support to this process.
This session introduces some strategies and tools to connect with potential partners through the NIR-VANA platform in order to exploit open/collaborative innovation. First, participants will be exposed on how to create a partner search room when they need to search for the following: Business offer, Business request, Technology offer, Technology request or Research & Development. Within this same task, participants will learn how to create and submit a profile as well as some additional tools provided by the platform. Then, a second task will introduce participants on how to successfully select from expressions of interest using the NIR-VANA platform and how to successfully complete the connection stage (Partner search room-PSR) in order to enter the collaboration stage (Networking Innovation Room). Finally, some further thoughts are provided in order to explore some insights on successful partner searching strategies.
This session introduces some strategies and tools to start the collaboration with potential partners through the NIR-VANA platform in order to exploit open/collaborative innovation. Thus, after a NIR has been created (see session 3), in this session participants will be guided onto how to develop an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) through NIR-VANA platform when they want to complete a collaboration process regarding the following: Business offer, Business request, Technology offer, Technology request or Research & Development. After the successful creation of the NDA, participants will also be shown how to complete further agreements through the platform (Task 2). Finally, further thoughts are provided in order to explore some insights on successful collaboration strategies through the description of some collaboration models and some tips on how to manage change in the organizations.
This session shows some additional tools and services (linked to the NIR-VANA platform) that may help participants complement their daily work. These services include: access to experts and trends, financing and patents and IP. Specifically, the first task explores how participants can access tools such as Presans and Linknovate in order to access external experts or trends. Then, a second task describes the different funding strategies for entrepreneurs and SMEs and explores how to access European funding sources. Finally, the last task discusses with participants the value of patents and IPs, and describes how to use tools like IPIB and IPlytics.
